【3月18日 AFPBB News】Indonesian brand HEAVEN TANUDIREDJA ANTWERP showcased a new collection of womenswear featuring an imperfect combination of fabrics and designs at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo 2023 A/W.

It was the label’s second collection shown at the biannual parade, following its first participation in 2018.

The brand offered a physical runway show in the empty basement of a building now under construction at Tokyo’s trendy Shibuya district on March 18, the final day of the event.

Female models sashayed the concrete floor, wearing blouses and skirts ornamented with chained balls while the collection also presented tops and dresses with sequins in various colors.

Heaven Tanudiredja, designer of the Bali-based label, said if clothes are “too beautiful,” they could lose an impact.

“I like to mix everything. If it's too perfect, then it becomes boring,” he said in an interview following the presentation.
